COACH STARTER KIT
Six adaptable teaching sessions for a beginner group. Use your local age rules, approved equipment, field conditions, and onboarding requirements. This is a teaching sequence, not a promised six-week season.
Start with short partner throws. Teach a comfortable ready position and catching with soft hands. Finish with a cooperative catching challenge.
Use cones for simple starts, stops, and changes of direction. Practice finding an open passing lane in a small-sided game.
Practice approaching under control and reaching for the flag. Reinforce the local non-contact rules; stop and reset unsafe play.
Introduce a few simple routes. Rotate throwers and receivers, with short distances and plenty of repetitions.
Use small groups to practice spacing, watching the ball, and communicating. Rotate roles so every player learns both sides.
Use short, coached scrimmages. Recognize improvement and teamwork, then help each player choose one skill to keep practicing.
Session rhythm: welcome and movement → one skill → a small game → a positive team wrap-up. Adjust time and difficulty to the group.
